Castle Estates is a Regulated member of the Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA), the only professional body that is solely concerned with the regulation of Letting Agents, and for 25 years has been actively promoting the highest standards across every aspect of residential letting and management. ARLA member firms are required to work within the robust Code of Practice, which covers the key stages of Letting and Management of property.
Castle Estates hold deposits with SafeDeposits Scotland
SafeDeposits is Scotland’s leading tenancy deposit scheme, which has attracted approximately 60% of the market.
They hold the deposit during the tenancy to keep it safe and make sure it’s available to be returned to the tenant at the end of the tenancy, if they've met the terms of their tenancy agreement.
They also offer an impartial adjudication service if a landlord and tenant can’t agree on who the deposit should be repaid to at the end of the tenancy. This means we’ll ask the landlord and tenant for further information so an impartial adjudicator can decide what repayment is fair.
SafeDeposits ensures that:
• all tenancy deposits are securely held and protected;
• all disputes about the return of the deposit are resolved quickly and fairly;
• our service is achieved without any additional cost to either landlord or tenant.
Unlike other tenancy deposit schemes, SafeDeposits is a not-for-profit organisation, and any surpluses generated are donated to our related charity, the SafeDeposits Scotland Trust - a grant giving charity designed to promote education, training and best practice in Scotland’s private rented sector.
They are the only tenancy deposit scheme based in Scotland, operating from our central office in Glasgow city centre.
